Meet Dr. Maria Tassopoulou
A native of Athens, Greece, Dr. Maria Tassopoulou received a Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Athens University Dental School. After moving to the United States, Dr. Tassopoulou earned a Master of Science in Dentistry from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry as well as a certification in orthodontics and US Dental Certification and Licensure.
She is passionate about providing excellent, evidence-based care to all of her patients with an emphasis in addressing their unique concerns and goals. She enjoys getting to know her patients and seeing a positive transformation throughout their treatment. The most rewarding aspect of her profession is witnessing the change in a patient’s self-esteem and confidence as a result of their new, beautiful smile.
After teaching orthodontics full-time for over 5 years at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Tassopoulou still volunteers her time giving lectures there. She sincerely enjoys the interaction with future dentists and orthodontists while being able to stay current on all of the changing trends within the orthodontic profession.
